1. Introduction

In this privacy policy, we explain how we handle the personal data collected, processed and stored via our website.

This privacy policy applies to the ViPArt website. We cannot guarantee that other websites linked to from our website comply with data protection regulations.

We reserve the right to amend the content of this privacy policy, particularly where we offer new or modified services, or where changes in legislation or case law make an amendment necessary or advisable, provided that such an amendment is reasonable for the user, taking into account our legitimate interests.

2. General information on data processing

2.1. Scope of the processing of personal data

We collect and use our users’ personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a fully functional website and to deliver our content and services.

We generally collect and use our users’ personal data only with their consent. An exception applies in cases where it is not possible to obtain consent in advance for practical reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by law.

2.2. Legal basis

In general, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) serves as the legal basis for this privacy policy. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is frequently referred to in this policy, also applies to users from countries that are members of the EU.

2.3. Data erasure and retention period

The data subject’s personal data will be erased or restricted as soon as the purpose for which it was stored no longer applies. Data may also be stored if this is provided for by European or national legislation in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject.

Data will also be blocked or deleted when the retention period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need to continue storing the data for the purpose of concluding or fulfilling a contract.

Data is stored in log files to ensure the website functions properly. We also use this data to optimise the website and to ensure the security of our IT systems. The data is not analysed for marketing purposes in this context.

These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in processing data in accordance with the legal basis set out above.

In the case of data collection for the purpose of providing the website, this is the case as soon as the session ends. In the case of data storage in logfiles, this is the case after 10 weeks. In the case of statistical information, this is the case after 12 months.

3.5. Right of objection and right to rectification

The collection of data for the purpose of providing the website and the storage of this data in log files is essential for the operation of the website. Consequently, users have no right to object.

4. Use of cookies

We use cookies:

  • to remember that we have accepted the cookie notice
  • for the language setting

The user data collected via technically necessary cookies is not used to create user profiles.

These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in processing personal data in accordance with the legal basis set out above.

4.4. Duration of storage, right to object and right to erasure

Cookies are stored on the user’s computer and transmitted from there to our website. As a user, you therefore have full control over the use of cookies.

You can disable or restrict the use of cookies by changing the settings in your web browser. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are disabled for our website, you may no longer be able to make full use of all the website’s features.
